\n \nAbout the Brand
\nThis is a fast-growing, founder-led, multi-unit pizza franchise built on craft, quality, and real operational discipline. The founder is an internationally recognized, award-winning master pizza maker, and the brand runs a chef-driven pizza program with a level of ingredient detail and menu complexity well beyond a typical fast casual concept. The brand is in an active, high-growth expansion phase. Company name shared with candidates who advance in the process.
\n \nAbout the Role
\nThis is not a pure training role. It's a hybrid field position that combines real, hands-on restaurant operations expertise with franchise business consulting. The brand and its operating standards are fixed, this person's job is to walk into a franchise location, find the fix inside those standards, and get an independent business owner who doesn't report to corporate to actually buy in. That takes both operator credibility and business acumen, not just training delivery.
\n \nWhat You'll Own
\n● Conduct operational audits at franchise locations, identifying gaps against brand standards
\n● Partner directly with franchise owners to diagnose issues and drive resolution, navigating conversations with independent business owners rather than direct reports
\n● Support new restaurant openings, training crews on both front-of-house and kitchen operations
\n● Review P&L performance directly with franchise owners, connecting operational execution to financial outcomes
\n● Reinforce brand standards, food safety, and the craft menu program across every visit
\n \nThe Career Path We're Looking For
\nThis combination is genuinely hard to find, and it tends to come from one of two paths:
\n● You started as a GM or Kitchen Manager inside a franchise brand, moved into a new store opening or training role, and were promoted into a field consultant role. That progression is what builds both halves of this job.
\n● You've led operations (Director of Operations, Area Coach) at a large multi-unit franchisee group, 15–20+ units, where you've opened stores, trained crews on the line, and managed P&Ls directly. You understand the franchisee side of the table, which matters when you're the one asking an owner to change something.
\n \nWho You Are
\n● Real, hands-on kitchen and front-of-house experience, not just oversight from a corporate seat
\n● Comfortable having a credible, sometimes difficult, business conversation with an independent owner about their P&L
\n● You understand what it's like to run a business where the standards are fixed but the P&L is yours to own
\n● A natural relationship-builder, this role pays off over time as trust with franchise owners builds
\n \nRequired
\n● At least 2 years in a field role at a franchise brand: Franchise Business Consultant, Field Operations Consultant, Area Coach, Operations Consultant, NSO/Opening Trainer, or comparable
\n● Prior GM or Kitchen Manager experience before moving into a field role
\n● Demonstrated experience training crews and supporting new restaurant openings
\n● P&L literacy and comfort discussing financial performance directly with a business owner
\n● Stable tenure, this role is built on long-term relationships with franchise owners, not short stints
\n● Willingness to travel heavily
\n \nStrong Plus
\n● Background at a fast casual pizza brand (e.g., MOD, Blaze, Pieology, &pizza) or a high-execution kitchen concept
\n● Toast POS experience
\n● Experience specifically with independently owned franchise locations, not just corporate-owned stores
\n● Craft or scratch-kitchen experience
\n \nOur Process
\nCandidates who advance will complete a working interview in the kitchen along with a P&L case exercise. A strong resume gets you in the door, both halves of this job get tested directly before an offer is made.
